Bonin White-eye
Apalopteron familiare hahasima
Haha-jima, Ogasawara Islands, Japan - May 28 2017
Dorsal view of a Bonin White-eye.
The most remote target bird to anyone that goes birdwatching in Japan, and are therefore left out by most since it requires an extra 6 days on the itinerary. But once there, one will find plenty of handsome Bonin White-eyes along with other striking and endemic subspecies of more widespread birds as well as world class seawatching en route.
