Wrybill

Wrybill

Anarhynchus frontalis
Miranda, North Island, New Zealand - November 17 2018
An immature Wrybill on the mudflat. The bill of these birds represent one of the weirdest adoptations in the avian world, and the species is the only one of the nearly 11.000 bird species that has a bill bent sideways.
