Giant Weaver

The endemic Giant Weaver may look like any other Weaver, but as the name suggest this one is huge! Together with the sympatric Giant Sunbird, the Weaver is a good example of island gigantism. We found this bird deep inside the forest when it was removing big chunks from the rotten tree in search of juicy larvae.
