Dupont's Lark

This strictly ground-dwelling lark was the very epitome of one of the Western Palearctic's most elusive birds. I had a wonderful evening and morning on the Artemisia-covered alpine heath, where the territories were packed closely together. If you just give them a little time, you can see them moving between the tussocks.
