Storm's Stork
Ciconia stormi
Taman Negara National Park, Peninsular Malaysia - May 15 2019
Here is the best bird of the Malaysian section of the trip, but unfortunately also the lowest quality photo. A so called “record shot”! It was early in the morning and we were about to pack our stuff and leave Kumbang hide after a fantastic night with thunderstorms and a Tapir. The tallest treetops were covered in mist. Suddenly a stork flew in and perched for a few seconds! It was a long desired Storm’s Stork, very unexpected and a rarely seen bird here. My 18th stork of the 19 stork species in the world.
